N. Korea doesn't air S. Korea, US games
JOHANNESBURG(AP) North Korean state television has aired full coverage of three World Cup matches as well as snippets from the opening ceremony - but not the games played by wartime enemies South Korea and the United States.
Korean Central Broadcasting aired the opening match between Mexico and South Africa late Saturday, a day after the event. The France-Uruguay and Argentina-Nigeria games were shown Sunday. The broadcasts were monitored by The Associated Press in Seoul.
However, South Korea's match against Greece, and the U.S. game against England were conspicuously missing from the TV lineup. Pyongyang does not have diplomatic relations with Seoul or Washington.
North Korea has a team at the World Cup for the first time since 1966.
